Paid a trip to Hale today...usual showing incl. kestrel, meadow pipits, skylarks and a linnet. Plenty of pheasants around, and nice to see two grey partridge that were flushed from a field by some dogs! Good numbers of heron, cormorant and shelduck on river, but highlight came in the form of 3 beautiful Wheaters on the bare field nearest the woods. Plenty of Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff in the woods too..Summer migration has really exploded into action!
