Again I accidentally bumped into a flock of Waxwings today whilst working in Bootle at about 2.00pm, a flock of 15 birds came from the area of Merton Grove, flew over Stanley Road and appeared to go down around Pembroke Road/Balliol Road near to Hugh Bird College. This was a great relief as I found out yesterday a flock of 50+ Waxwings had been found in Booker Avenue, Allerton (just down the road from me), but due to work commitments I have not been able to catch up with them as yet. I always find it a bit strange when another birder finds something in my local area, surely I need to try harder! Hopefully I will catch up with them tomorrow.
Surely with the amount of birds elswhere in the region Liverpool has a few undiscovered flocks lirking on cotoneasters near you!

Hi Danny,
it was nice to meet you today. I didn't see anything else on the way home but I'll let you know if those waxwings show up again on Booker, or anywhere else nearby. Interestingly, after we were talking about Black-Throated Thrushes, I see one has turned up today in Hampshire.

At least 2 Brambling with greenfinch flock , back of Aigburth Hall nursery, today and first fieldfare of winter in garden last week.
A couple of Waxwings in my garden in a snowy Pitville Avenue, have never seen, or at least noticed them before, what a beautiful bird they are, quite exotic.

Sean - I live really near Aigburth Hall Nursery - I'll keep my eyes open for Bramblings. Loads of Redwings today around Grassendale Road and Grassendale Park, and a couple of Snipe with the other waders on the Mersey at the bottom of North Road.

just been up for a look and no sign of them today (about 3pm).
Good numbers (relatively speaking that is) of waders at the bottom of Grassendale and Cressington Parks - about 380 Dunlin,148 Golden Plover, lots of Redshank and a few Lapwings turnstone, curlew, Black-t-Godwits, oystercatcher, teal, shelduck, pintail and about 4 Ringed Plover (only about the 3rd time I've seen Ringed Plover at this spot).
23 waxwings sighted today in Bootle, just off Merton Road in Berry St, feeding on Berries in Berry St !!!
There is a GAP plant hire depot where the bushes are situated.

Just saw a flock of around 6 or 7 on Wavertree Technology Park. Totally confused me and a mate. We'd never seen anything like it round here before and after a bit of searching on the internet, found both the bird we were looking for and this site, so thought I'd give you a heads up :)
